Füred Cup, the final series of One Design Trophy was held in a strong wind this weekend at the venue of the J24Europeans Championship. The summer Balaton showed its windy and varied faces to the sailors: the first day races were postponed due to the strong gusts exceeding 35 knots. The wind was still puffy in the morning, but the forecast looked well for the rest of the day so after a short delay the fleet started the regatta under strong but fair conditions.  JINGE won the first race: a newcomer in the class, who started the J24 class only last year, but they have been improving very well this season. The defending Hungarian Champion IJroncat finished second in the first race and JBond037 arrived as third. The wind decreased for the second start but the fleet still used the jib to keep upright. IJroncat won the race just a couple of centimetres ahead of Jukebox and JINGE finished third in this race....

Up to now more than 40 enter the J24 European Championship

A vivid interest has risen in the J24 European Championship 2017: up to now 41 units from 8 nations entered the event. Most of the competitors are from Germany, but there are teams from Sweden, Greece, The Netherlands, England, Italy, Hungary and even from the United States. The organizers are excited to prepare with an experienced and professional team and with interesting social programs for the 10 race championship. Those who are still hesitant to enter the European Championship should be convinced by Hungarian wines, gastronomy and the warm and beautiful water of Lake Balaton. Busy summer season for the Hungarian J24 class

For the J24 class 2017 is all about the preparation for the European Championship. The HUNJCA schedule includes the Fleet championship, the One Design Trophy series, the Fleet Regattas and the Hungarian Championship while Friday Training provides even further tune in for the J24 sailors.  August is rather impressive and dense: regattas almost every weekend. The 11th of August is a Friday Training Regatta and the weekend is the last round of the One Design Trophy in Balatonfüred, at Balatonfüred Yacht Club - the location of the European Championship. The 19th and 20th of August the J24 Class attending the 2-day Fleet Regatta. Then the forthcoming event is the next weekend: the National SLAM Open Championship, also at the location of the EC. J/24 Fleet Regatta – the season opener for the 2017 J/24 Hungarian Sailing Series

Maximum number of 8 races sailed in perfect conditions was a result of the three-day Balatonfüred J/24 Fleet Regatta - the season opener for the 2017 J/24 Hungarian Sailing Series. Gábor Sallai and his team on BIGFIVE was the winner with 21 points. In second place was ST.JAMES skippered by Farkas Litkey with 24 points. Litkey was the helmsman and tactician of the Italian Team Pelle Nero, who won the third place of Italian J/24 Winter Series. Following in third place, was JUKEBOX – the second overall of the Italian J/24 Winter Series - skippered by Miklós Rauchenberger with 24 points total. What a perfect regatta!
